"In Memoriam"

This opening page is dedicated in memoriam for the innocent lives lost during
several acts of unwarranted acts of terrorism that were inflicted on the
United States of America on 11 September, 2001.

Please take a moment of silence to reflect on the atrocities committed on that day, not
just in the toll of innocent American and visitor lives taken - both on the ground
and in the air - but the toll taken in lives of the firefighters, paramedics, policemen
and other rescue personnel who went into the middle of Hell trying to save lives
when the rest of the World Trade Center Towers fell.

And to the heroism of the air crews and passengers of the highjacked planes who did
whatever they could to avert a greater disaster. No matter if they succeeded or not.

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. I believe that to be true. This picture was
forwarded to me by my husband Jeff, who found it on the Web Site of his former
Army unit: the 1st/509th Airborne Infantry. I share it, and his comments, with you now.

"This is a good picture, got it off of the '09 www site... it's a bit of a gut wrencher...
apparently it was dropped through the mail slot at one of the New York firestations.
It had a note saying something to the effect:
"I hope this is okay with you guys, I finished it last night."
They saw the person as he was running away, young male, mid to late teens...
Even the kids are taking it seriously"

"I'll take it from here..."

"For those who fought for it, freedom has a
flavor the protected will never know."

of their Country. We will not forget your sacrifice nor forsake you.
